
The Yamaha P140 is a digital piano and is the latest installment to their P series of digital pianos. The P140 is great for beginning to intermediate piano students who wish to have the sound and feel of an acoustic piano but with all the functionality, voices, and ease of transportation that comes with a digital piano.
Sounds
The P140 features a wide range of instrument voices including grand piano, harpsichord, organ, dual strings, and the all-in-one piano voice. The sounds of each voice is recorded using patented technology that makes the sound pretty much identical to the actual instrument the piano is set to.
Technical Specifications
- The P140 features hammer-action keys with touch sensitivity, which allows the player to accent certain parts or notes in a song. This is an essential feature for any serious pianist.
- The P140 features Dynamic Stereo Sampling that integrates three separate layers of stereo sounds which alters the volume and harmony of the sound depending on the pressure applied to the hammer-action keys.
- The Dynamic Stereo Sampling goes even further to create a fourth layer of sound and harmony when the damper pedal is pressed, creating a sound just like a damper pedal on a real piano would create.
- The P140 is compact yet still features built in speakers and can be purchased in black or silver with maple or dark oak accenting.
Other Features
The Yamaha P140 digital piano also features a playlist of 50 classic songs that can be automatically played for the users enjoyment. The P140 allows the user to practice each of the 50 songs by muting either the left or right hand, that way, they can practice using a certain hand while the piano takes care of the other. This is a really great feature for students or new pianists.
The P140 also comes with a stand that the piano fits in perfectly and matches with the piano’s style.
